The advertising agency — which counts Stanleuy Works, U.S. Department of Defense and Nationakl Grid among itsclients — has for most of its four-decade history operated out of a sprawlin manor owned by agency founder Jim Mullen in But earlier this month the agencgy traded its country estate for the top four floors of the 11-floor Boston Insurance Exchangew Building at 40 Broad St. in “It’s not a skyscraper, so we have an intimacyg with ground level and the otherbuildings — a characte and texture suited to our sensibilities of said Joe Grimaldi, Mullen’s CEO.
“Ourt lease was going to run out onJune 31, and that gave us a reasonn to consider where we might want to be and what we wantesd to do on a broader scale. Boston seemed like the rightf thing to do at this poinyin time.” Mullen kept all 300 employees abreast of all aspectsz of the move right from its official announcemen in August 2007.
