UNCC honors Rodgers Builders CEO - Phoenix Business Journal:

The Charlotte-based company has worked on severaluniversity projects, including the Barnhardt Studentf Activity Center, Irwin Belk Track and Field Lynch Residence Hall and the Bioinformaticws Research Center. Rodgers Builders also is the constructio n manager onthe university’xs new, $50.4 million Center City Building projecty that is slated to open in the fall of 2011. A groundbreakinf ceremony was held in Aprilk forthe 12-story, classroom building at the corner of Ninthh and Brevard streets in uptown Charlotte.
“Whatg sets Pat apart from most isher commitment; she remains personally invested in the institution s and organizations she touches long after her formakl involvement has ended,” says Philip Dubois, UNC Charlott e chancellor. “Her commitment to the betterment of our communit y extends to herbusiness philosophy. In Rodgers Builders has been hailed time and againj as the epitomeof civic-mindec business.” Rodgers is also chaire of the Charlotte Symphont board and will assume the chairmanship of the Charlotte Chambed board in 2011. The universitt established the Distinguished Servicr Awardin 1987.
It honors individuals who have provided outstanding leadership and servicde to the Charlotte communitg and to the advancement ofUNC Charlotte. Rodgersz was honored Tuesday during a luncheon at the UNC Charlotte isthe fourth-largest campus amongb the 17 institutions of the UNC system. It is the largesty institution of higher education in the Charlotte offering doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s programs. Fall 2008 enrollment was 23,300, including nearly 5,00 graduate students.
